Game play goes like this, you are a fairy tale character that has been knocked down from the pedistal of fame. You can choose between Jack from Jack and the beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White or The Naked Emperor from the Emperor's new clothes. I have been playing as Snow White because she seems to be the one that acts the most insane. You start off on a quest to find the overflowing pot of poridge for the three bears to searve thier guests. It was stolen. On your adventure you pick up random weapons and kill the living snot out of anyone who comes in your path.
I absolutely adore this game. The randomness of the weapons is great everything from your usual broadsword right down to a stuffed rabbit. Thus far my favorite is a toss up between the pitchfork and the mallet. The blood is greatness and best of all you can slide through it. Its hilarious. There are achievements to get by sliding in the blood even. It has proven more difficult than I thought it would be to continuously slide through blood for 3 minutes (I will get you achievement oh...yes.....i will).
The point of the whole game is to win your fame back that was taken from you. I have yet to really figure out how but I know I"m building a massive statue in my honor to try and win it back.
The bad stuff? The fighting controls kinda suck you have to wiggle the right joystick around in order to fight anything not button mash. The graphics aren't the best but I didn't really expect anything gradious from it.
In other news I made myself neat little kitty ears and paws that i've been wearing around the house.....I'm random.

Then October 8th was my birthday which was short lived. Had my party the 25th which was a blacklight party and I was able to meet a long time online friend of mine :) Then no real halloween shinanigans though we went to a non themed wedding of a friend and now here I am able to have free time again.
The dungeons and dragons themed posters have been posted on my zazzle and I'd love feedback or for people to get them :) www.zazzle.com/ashadeaway
On to the good stuff GAMES
So my latest obsesion has been Left 4 Dead we've been gearing up for the release of Left 4 Dead 2. We bought it with some of our wedding money. If you haven't played it yet its your typical zombie apocolypse go shoot them game....enough said.
Things I like about it is that i'm obsessed with trying to get through the levels on expert. So far we can get to the third scene in the first campaign. This shit is hard but i'm a determined acheivement whore. I love the ai and how if you stay still for too long they come for you. It makes it hard on a person like me because i'm usually oh neat look at this thing in games and i soooo can't do that in Left 4 Dead. The random things the chracters say are very ammusing. And of course I just shoot Louis over and over again to hear him freak out. I like that its also a game that Nathan and I enjoy playing together. Usually we like alot of one players so one of us have to watch. Lets see what else do I loke about it besides OMG zombies..... The different kind of specials are neat. The witches are crazy brutal and scary creepy since they cry like little girls. and thats creepiness.
Dislikes: Expert level is like nearly impossible. Since the AI adjusts to your playing the more you play it the harder it seems to get. Which blows when you spend days trying to get through one freaking campaign. The npcs are stupid beyond beleif sometimes. I'm shooting and they run in front of me and then stand there and shoot like a horrible leap frog over and over again. they should know to crouch down because then i can shoot over them. *eye roll* the other thing i don't like is the inconsistancy of the special smokers. How is it that they can some how get thier "tongue" past a mob of zombies and grab just me? Wouldn't they end up getting a fellow zombie once and a while?
The other things i find annoying they are fixing in the second one like making it slightly more realistic in finding things. Currently there is an arrow that appears like hey there is crap to be had here. I'd rather find it myself thank you.
Thats about all I got for now can't do all my new game reviews in one posting :P TTYall later
I've been itching for halo again lately too. I miss killing stupid people with the hammer. *le sigh* Alas I do not actually own a copy of halo 3. I borrowed one for a while from my friend but i wants it back :( Maybe after the wedding crap is done I can buy it. Who plays halo still? anyone? well halo 3? Be cool to finally play with some people on here. What otehr games does anyone play on live? or pc for that matter maybe we could get something going. I need more gaming buddies!!!
Going to start working on costumes soon for the next set of photoshoots for posters. Currently in the works is Samus's zero suit and a Princess Peach outfit :) Always taking ideas for more BTW. Ok well this is all I can type for now. My eyes have been screwed up this morning due to a mirgrain i had last night. major suckage...anywho miss ya guys!

MONKEY ISLAND!!!!
Yeah its awesome sauce. They remade it for the aniversary of it. So get this as you play you can hit one wittle button and switch back and forth between new version and original 256 color version. Its amazing. They redid the music and they had the cast back to do the script. Now I haven't finished playing it all the way through because this is my first time playing it. I know its blasphamy but i was a king quester when this was out and had noooo idea that and i was...tiny......
Anywho yeah the game is funny awesomeness that I actually miss games like this and thankful for the re-release.I love the click and go adventuring games and the storyline for monkey island is just funny. Though sometimes i wish i wouldn't have to think so hard to figure out how to get past things...meh oh well
I've also stated playing Tomb Raider on xbox 360...meh on the game so far but i like to watch Lara wiggle...i mean she has nice.....assets? I wish i had her boobs lol
On othe notes sorry for like ending my blogging for a while but guess whats I HAS A JORB!!! Yep i'm now a Merchandising Team Lead at a jo-ann fabrics... which is dangerous for a costume maker like myself. But now that just means more gamer girl outfits!
Speaking of please stay tuned to my zazzle website new posters have been shot and are almost ready to be posted for purchasing and I expect somone to buy one!!!! www.zazzle.com/ashadeaway if you didn't know it by now

We looked up on ebay and think we'll collect the other seasons when we see them for cheap. If I had this and trippin the rift i'd be set :) Well maybe ther are so many other show's i'd like to collect but this would work for now. I'm also trying to figure out how to make Xev's little outfit. Could even do posters with it if people remember the show. Do you guys?
Anyway as far as gaming goes the Crandor race has reached the top rank for the space age in Spore. We don't have galactic adventures yet so i'm just kinda going around and collecting stuff untill i'm ready to take on the grox in the center. Not ready for that yet.
The bridal shower had lots of good loot for those who were curious. Favorite items: new knives, fire pit, a cool skeleton and when we got home a kitchen aid mixer. Pretty sweet hull.
With in the next couple weeks I should be shooting more geeky gamer posters. Including a certain female fighter in a skin tight blue suit. Should be sweet.
Also, looking for suggestions on games to try and critique. i've been stuck on spore for long enough What should I play guys?

Yesterday we went over to Jason's house to do some lawn work for him. Afterwards he had to show us his new toy, TrackIR 5. I didn't try it so i can only speak about it from veiwing it. The thing is pretty freaking sweet. If you don't know much about it there are youtube videos about it but basically its a motion sensor for use on your PC. There are two ways that the motion can be registered. One is with a baseball cap that i've only seen in the youtube video which looks like the device sitting on a hat. And the oher is an attachment for on your headset or head phones. Jason has this version. The sensor on your headset then speaks to a little tv looking hook up that sits upon the top of your monitor. Its about the size of your average webcam.
The thing is neat because it allows you to look around while running/walking in your game. For example, normally you have to look around the screen in a first person shooter or other first person game using your directionals and essentially end up running or going that direction. The TrackIR allows you to look around you like you would in real life while still moving in one direction. So lets say you want to look over your shoulder in game to see if any enemies are following you. You keep your directionals going forward while you move your own head left or right. Your character then looks these same directions and stays on course. Rather nice.
The thing I think is rather funny is that it has awesome reaction time so that if you were playing and someone came up behind you and got your attention so you turned your character would jerk around a bit. he he
I like the little toy though doubt that i would ever be coordinated enough to use it myself. Though I like the potentiial for looking around corners and such. Always good for people like me who play while being sneaky sneaky.
Other news is that I've officially launched my little tailoring shop via myspace. www.myspace.com/shadesfindings if you are interested to take a gander. Or need a costume *hint hint*
Also unfortunately the next couple days I won't be able to game update at all nor game. I'll be in chicago with Nathan for our bridal shower for my side of the family. Hopefully we get good loot.

Then after starting up it said it had a patch available. I was like ok update that. Sat there twiddling my thumbs as my pc thought about that one for a while. And then time to play right? NOOOOOOO Spore has stopped working. Spore has a critical error. Spore needs to stop fucking up my game time. GRRRRR no make me mad.
Nathan then spent about an hour trying to save my saved games from before the patch to then make it work. Had to uninstall the whole thing and the creepy and cute pack then reinstall put my saved games back in it and then play time right? Ok so I started playing my game with the Mopsy empire that is now peacefully taking over my slice of the universe in the space mode and the Spore has stopped working. OH NO YOU DIDN"T *head to desk* I didn't save.
So I restarted the computer figured it was other things from before's adventures fudging it up so maybe this would work. Started taking over the universe some more. Completeed about 5 missions and then Spore has stopped working. *picks up compter and throws across room* Again I didn't save. Garg
Ok one more time. This time as i went and completed each mission or got a badge or something Save. Got to new part of universe Save. Broke ship Save. Terreformed planet Save. Spore has stopped working..........*goes to bed* FU SPORE We think something is up with my saved game now maybe corrupt. Or like a forum says i should try dumbing down the graphics a bit. But before the patch issue never had this problem....
Today I started a whole new creature I call the Crandors they look like giant cranberries with attitude. So far no kicking me out of the game so thats good. I've just reached tribal stage with them. They are crazy carnivors that on thier advancement to where they are found a glitching floating egg....
So far in the adventures of Crandor they try to be all mean and stuff but die more often than i'd like. Meh but yeah haven't gotten much playing in since its been sucking the up badly.
Oh well.......I go that way now---------> *shakes fist at SPORE*

Right before we moved we were able to buy a cardgame we had been wanting for a while called SPANC. Space Pirates Amazon Ninja Cat girls. Its made by the same people who created Munchkin so with that in mind you probably know what type of game this would be. As of late we've gotten a chance to start learning it and playing it. The object of the game is to beat your opponents in challenges to earn loot and a pool boy. LOL The game is kinda goofy fun, I just like looking at the pictures myself. We haven't actually finished a full game of it yet so that is saddness. We get to a point to have whats called a cat fight and then something comes up where we have to stop playing. None the less if you're a Munchkin fan you'd probably find it as amusing as I do.
In other news, I'm going to be shooting more posters within a couple weeks so please stay tuned for more awesome goodness. And shame on you all for not buying any yet. Please remember to check them out at least at www.zazzle.com/ashadeaway The new ones will be with costumes i've made :)
I've been getting nostolgic for older games lately. I'm probably off to play Spore for a bit Or maybe Tomb raider on xbox 360 I dunno. I'll blog tomarrow about whichever I choose. Later guys!

There is a double meaning to this post's title. One we're settled in the new home :) happiness! Our computer gaming central is set up in our nice cool basement. Which is where I sit and type right now :) Its soo muggy outside in Des Moines right now. It took us about two three weeks to get completely settled. Though we have some things still left on our to do list such as my sewing corner and some work on the outside of the house we can at least relax for the most part and enjoy things now. I currently do not have employment, Nathan as well which has its ups and downs. Downs no monies flowing in though we are doing just fine with that regardless by limiting certain things and avoiding eating out as much as possible. The up side now that most of our work is done time for gamings!
As a house warming gift my future brother in law gave Nathan and me a copy of Sims 3!!!! Thanks Jason! So we have been playing quite alot. For those who are not familuar with the game (but considering its on its third cycle I would hope by now you know what I'm talking about) here is a little bit about it. You create a family or a single sim or person. In creation you control the hair, face, clothing and depending upon which Sims version it is different aspects about the sim. Then your sim or sim family is given a set amout of simoleons which is thier money and you pick out where you are going to live. Two options usually for this an already created house or a blank plot of land in which you build your own home. Then you play through everyday life as your sim. You control them eating, sleeping, going to work, building thier skills, showering, potty breaks and fun activities. So in a nutshell you start to play and three hours later you realise maybe I should go do something else.
So Sims 3! I'll go through the differences from the previous versions as I walk you through our new sim family.
First Nathan and I sat down to create our sims. The way we normally play the sims together is that we make each other start a house and play as us in real life. Later we usually make "other" versions of us that are well different and experimental and play them. But I'll let you know about the ones that are us in real life since thats all we've done in Sims 3 thus far. So creation. We made Nathan first. His character is pretty damn close to him in real life. Big chin and all. The changes that I like is that you can use the preset noses and eyes and then tweek them in the advanced mode when in the past if you had any advance mode before selecting a preset it would kinda well....fuck up the face. Normally causing odd clipping in the cheeks or a facial structure that just didn't look authentic. The hair we were able to get really close now because you can pick more than one color for different parts within the hair, such as roots highlights and tips creating a more textured outcome for your sims hair. Rather nice. The most obvious thing with sim creation in Sims 3 is that now your sim has personality traits. These traits act like they would in real life influencing the way your sim interacts with the world around you. For Nathan we chose: bookworm, absent-minded, artistic, ambisious and good sense of humor. For those of you who know of or know my other half this is dead on. You can imput favorite color, for nathan a dark green, favorite food, he chose cookies and music we put electronica which sounded close enough to goth for us. Then you can alter the pitch of the voice for your sim. This feature was kinda a nice addidtive though personally I think its really a waste anyways since most of the time speaking when you play for a long time you fast forward through anyways, causing the pitch to sound like chipmunks regardless. Oh and with Nathan's traits it gave us a list of lifetime goals to have to try and achieve we picked professional author for him. In order to achieve this we had to have him reach a certain level in royalties from novels he would write using the computer.
My turn. As usual we couldn't quite get the shape of my face down right. Its too bad that we just can't imput a facing forward jpeg of ourselves into this thing and have the game generate a sim version of you then allowing you to tweek it.....hmmm perhaps Sims 4? lol
Anywho we chose the longest hair we could find. At least now long hair flows nicely and doesn't clip through your body like the original sims did. I'll probably never have a sim with hair like mine though :( Too much animation for it to deal with i bet. Any who with my character we had more fun with the styling option. You can now tweek colors on clothing including fabric patterns and such. This made it really easy for us to recreate my flame bikini i have for swimming. For my traits: bookworm, clumsy, neat, childish and family-oriented. This is totally me and you'll find out why as our story ensues. Favorite color purple, Food lobster, and music electronica. My lifetime goal ended up to be an illustrious author. I had to get my painting and writing skills up to level 10 to reach mine.
Both our sims close to looking like us we were ready to begin the game. Though as a side note we both agree that we think we got closer on our looks in Sims 2 not to sure why. Still like the interface of facial creation better in Sims 3 regardless. We chose to buy a blank lot to build our house on. We normally do this, to custom the house to our playing style more, better for game flow and two so that we can make it like a house we would like to own. We picked a plot far away from the town near a pretty waterfall, of which we later found to be a public plot made for easy acess to fishing.
Ok I'll spare you the details of the house creation. Key points though that made it better than Sims 2. Tiangles/diagnols are easier and more workable into a sims home. Before you couldn't put and furniture up against a diagnol wall (and if you could have they needed to make that more apparent in the manual so that i could have done it :P). Painting furniture or customizing your own "style" way easier now than waiting for someone to mod the furniture so then you could download the color change. Now we don't have to have the couch be and ugly color because we like the couch itself (or the bonuses are better) we can change it. Also a slightly neat thing is a more customizable roof. Flaws in the building mode i would say is that the quick keys are not as obvious to use as before. Granted their is the quick key reference it doesn't have the ones ofr triangles and such on it. We once new it from reading a loading screen and now can't remember it, saddness.
Our gaming began with adjusting the aging cycle. We made it into epic. This way our sims aged just not as quickly as before. I like this feature alot. We decided that both our sims wouldn't have an actual job so we made it so we'd use our skills of painting and writing and such to make the money we needed to play. My character painted getting one half of her lifetime goal figured out while Nathan's wrote novel after novel earning challenges and such for completing such things as wells as earning level 10 in writing. Now this took a while i'm just fast forawrding it for reading sake.
So right now things I like about the game. The collecting aspect is fun. Making sure my character can have all the books read and all the fish caught and all the rocks found yep thats totally up my alley. I love how its fluid so i don't have a loading screen while i go to town or now walk to a neighbor's house. I think its neat I can garden now though I wish my hygeine wouldn't deplete so fast from it. I like that we have cells phones from the begining now. Makes it alot easier to answer the phone. The oppurtunities like bakesales and such are kinda fun too though slightly unrealistic. I don't have the local school calling me for more cookies just because i can make good ones... slightly odd. but meh its a game right? I like how thegame has improved in look of some of the animations like cooking, how i can see all the ingredents and the motions are more beleivable. Though I don't pour milk onto the cutting board while i make pancakes in real life lol. I also like how the traits play into the game play. Such as Nathan's character being absent minded we'll tell him to go shower. He'll walk into the bathroom then forget what he was doing there and go do something else. Nathan does this all the time he'll be like wha? why am i here? My character *le sigh* is clumsy. And what is the first thing she does? We told her to go read a book and she picks one up off the shelf and walks to the couch. But on the way there she trips over the coffee table. Doh. I've totally done that...i totally do that..... And my character now will play with the child toys since she's childish and we just had a baby girl we named Katrina. Check out my dorky toy playing sim:
Looks like a rabbit or something in my hand. Anywho here's nathan's sim with Katrina in his arms:
Awww such a good daddy! LOL One other neat thing that we had Nathan's character do was to search the catacombs of the graveyard. They come out all scared and dirty and sometimes with stuff for your house like a death flower or one time a rubber ducky ha! But yeah I'll update you with more on that as it goes.
Things I don't quite care for in the game so far are well more of "why have't they just done this yet" things. One though the fluidness of the map of the city is cool I wish I could have it fill my screen rather than scroll around to find what the hell i'm looking for like the bookstore or grocery store, or make a quick key button for thing. Or even better be able to have a most traveled list so i can almost short cut it. Two along those lines I wish i could have a way point maker on the map. This way I can mark where i've found rocks or seeds or something able return to later to see if more have appeared. Three, a thing that seems off to me is the camera seems different. Like angle wise. Perhaps its because of the two actual quick buttons i have (home and city veiw) change the angle i was looking at the screen originally that i just don't like having to find the one i was back to last time i was in that screen. And lastly while playing a seperate sim that has a job I like and dislike the choice options on what you can do at your job. I like that now we can interact more with our sim while they're at work but what i don't like is why not just have us go through the work day? I mean the game overall is about living every day life llike a virtual reality right? Doing things like making your sim shower or sleep are not really "fun" game play but we have the option to control that so why not work? Give me a list of things the sim has to do to complete the work day. I'd watch them be a roadie in the music track or do experiments in the science one. I'm sure other players would do considering we're already watching them do everything else.
So so far I love sims 3 I mean i've been a fan from the first one so yeah I can't pull myself away from it. I'm a loyal gamer to the trilogy and thier many expansions. Couple things i'd personally change but meh its EA they do that. They'll fix it or add to it in a later expantion as always. I'll keep you guys updated on our sims and other game aspects as we go with it. But for now I'm gonna go play.

SO I bring to you dear readers www.zazzle.com/ashadeaway my posters!. The only series that I have been able to do and post thus far was the guitar hero ones. But this gives me the oppurtunity to open up the forum again to what do you want in your gamer girl poster? Suggest anything i'll add it to my list and then stay tuned to the store to see it ready to buy and put on your wall!!! Isn't that greatness!
SO MAKE SUGGESTIONS GOSH DARN IT!!!
On a different side of life I went and saw the Star Trek movie a while back. It was pretty rocking.
Best lines that made me rofl:
"Did you know you whistle really loud?"- Kirk
"Get out of the chair"- Spock to Kirk
I liked the action and the actors did a rather good job of playing the characters the originals had created. Though there were a couple things i didn't like. WARNING SLIGHT SPOILERS
1. They got a worm hole and a black hole messed up . I mean seriously you cant use a black hole to travel.
2. I feel its kinda a cop out to basically change the time line by time travel just to start the story over the way they wanted. Though i like the fact i might get more Trek out of this I jut think its pretty dang close to selling out.
I did like how Spock was portrayed due to his struggle being half vulcn half human. Kirk was well...cocky. And I had a good time. Though i want to see it again so I'm not sitting in the second row of the theater looking up Chevok's nose.
And Moving. Over the last couple weeks we've been going back and forth to our new house we're renting fixing up the outside and moving stuff. This sunday will be our official move and then I'll be in Des Moines woot! Since we won't have cable for a bit but will have internets i'm hoping to be gaming and blogging more the first couple weeks :)

-Computers mostly get things put in them, CDs, DVDs, thumbdrives all put into them. Even thier plugs for power get pluged into them. And females get things put into them too
-All it takes to turn on a computer is hitting one button. Usually thats all it takes for most females too.
-Laptops a little computer loves to sit in your lap, just like most females
-in order to get better performace out of your computer you usually have to buy things for it. Most females work the same way buy them something and they become more willing to do things for you.
-Most males like to play with computers, most females do not. Same goes for females most males play with them and most females do not...though there are a few who do ;)
-Comupters overheat. Females have hot flashes.
-Blue screens and lockups are alot like a monthly visitor.
-Some computers look really nice others show their age...much like females
Thats about all I can come up with whatcha got folks? Lets make this list! Ha!
P.S. Stay tuned for gamer girl poster link coming soon!!!!

Hey all, sorry I haven't blogged in forever. If you haven't guessed I've been playing Bioshock again. I played it for a while on the PC but never completed it. And now i'm going through it on the xbox 360 in hope to get all the acheivements. I'm like a researching whore at the moment. I'm finally caught up to where I was when I was playing on the pc. I'm going through it saving the little sisters the first time and then going through a second time later and killing them.
I adore the period set in the game. Between Bioshock and Fallout 3 I"m set on my old time music fix. I love the scenery and little details in Bioshock that just find it amusing the many different wacky ways to kill people. For instance, what is more cool than using telekenisis to kill someone by throwing an already dead body at them? I mean come on it might be my morbid side but causing death with something dead is just hilarious.
I do enjoy the other plasmids though. I use them more than the weapons. Go figure a girl that usually plays a wizard would focus on using the magic like qualities in a game..hmm.... Anywho I think catching people on fire is by far my favorite. I love that you just snap your fingers and they burst into flames. I use to think of being able to do that as a child. But i'd hold my fingers too my head. Guess you can't really have that action in a game where all you ever really see of your character is your hands. BTW ever find it weird in first person shooters that you can't see your feet? Do you even ever have them?
I do use the weapons occasionally like when there is a glitch and a bad guy runs up to me and stops and just stands there and I wack them to death with the wrench. Ha! But I do need them for the Big Daddies. Eletronic gel works fabulously. Though I have been daring before and just tried shocking them and wack away with a wrench. I think it might be my weapon of choice really. Like they say in the begining "the one two punch."
The little sisters are incredably interesting to me. I've always found children to have the best of both worlds. One where they are innocent, funny and cute, winning every adults hearts by the whimsical things they say. The other is a darker creepier side that haunts your dreams. Nothing is more creepy than being alone at night while its storming and hear the slight light giggle of a child. *shivers* The litte sister's babble does about the same thing to me though I've adjusted to it the more I play. Don't get me wrong they are awesome just creepy. And has anyone else wondered why they are missing just one button? I mean all of them are? Do you find a stock pile of buttons somewhere later on? Sorry its the seamstress in me.
I don't have many qualms about the game. The hacking games gets slightly old, wish there was more of a variance to that. The glitches like the ragdoll instances, though humorous like a foot that won't stop freaking out after a splicer is dead, are rather annoying at times. But thats really about it that I don't care for. The story line is inticing and i'm hooked. Though I figured out what atlas was to your character earlier on just not to what it turns out to be. I like the plasmids and the many different bad guys. I think I'm about half way through it so don't ruin the ending for me:P
I am looking forward to the second one. Seems to me there might be big sisters ooo double spooky. But I dunno. Should be good.
As far as other gaming i'm still addicted to animal crossing starting to be able to catch soe bugs now that my snow has melted in my town. I've been itching to get a wii fit but with money like it is these days that is still on my back burner.
Life in general for me has been focusing on the wedding and getting ready to move to Des Moines and with the side tracking I've forgotten about my little site here :( Though I should have some goofy little craft pictures, geek related, to post later. Stop by on my blog tv some time and chat with me I'd love to talk with you about my gaming and such if you stop by. It is free to sign up and its rather amusing. Here's the link to my show again www.blogtv.com/People/ashadeaway

As far as gaming goes dnd haven't been getting much done our group is having issues staying on track. So we're devising some house rules for next time so that people can stay on track.
I've been playing lots of Rock Band 2 with Nathan and playing wii so nothing new in the console realm.
Been debating starting up WOW. I played once before with my sister but never had an account. I dunno if I should get wrapped up in it.
Oh and for anyone who would like the chance to actually chat with me and see me live I've created a blog tv site. I'm not on it alot yet since tere hasn't been much interest but if you want to join and add me as a friend we could chat about whatever you like ;)

A little about my character if you can't remember since we haven't played Nathan's Varienare champaign in a while.
Her name is Nevar Agathos. She is a level 12 (effective level 13) wizard loremaster. She is a Karn or otherwise known as a cat girl. Karns are one of Nathan's races. Nevar is obsessed with books and lore to the extent that most the time she has no interest in the quest until she is able to put the story together. She's a brat mostly (not hard for me to play if you know me). She's rather powerful and does both defensive and offensive casting due to her up bringing. You see Karns are a slave race (big surprise i picked that right lol). She was brought out of slavery by a wizard who taught her everything she knows and how to gather more knowledge than he could ever have.
This last gaming session we had returned home from defeating Lavidia a woman who was evil and mean to those in her woods. We took her head as proof we killed her so we could go around freeing those who were afraid to leave before. Before we left her castle we were investigating one room that had a floating blue orb of sorts in the middle. The rest of the party had asked my character what it was. Unfortunately I didn't role too high on my lore check and could only tell them that it was magic of some sort and that they shouldn't touch it.
In true fashion of our group that only encouraged them to touch it, they never like to listen to my character even though they ask her opinion and know she knows magic better than them. So Mark's character who we all call Bacon (long story), touched it. And nothing really happened that moment that we knew of. Bacon said that it looks like an ornament and then a huge christmas tree like ornament popped out and fell to the ground. Collon, Joe's character picked it up and decided that we needed to take it with us. The whole time my character is like why did you touch it? I told you not to touch it can we get out of here now?
The ornament was all mirror covered. Collon kept making faces into it and such. My character teleported all of us back to town, Taking Dan's character's (Gene McNair)clothes before plopping him in the middle of town like he asked. We dubbed him Gene McNaked the rest of the session. I did it for the laugh since i was still mad at the blue orb thing. We all went our seperate ways in town to gather what we needed for venturing back out. My character went to the library as usual.
That night Gene received a hearty knock upon the door. After darning his armor he went to anwser it and found Bacon standing there who then attacked him. Turned out it was a figment Bacon. His body shattered into millions of peices like a mirror. Gene was shaken up and went looking for the real Bacon. After the two of them verbally fought for a while they decided to come find Nevar to see what she could think of what was going on. Nevar ended up hearing a voice in her head saying maybe it was all just a bad dream....It was then that Nevar felt they needed to return to the castle thinking that thier fight with Lavidia was not done.
The next morning we gathered up the rest of the group to start heading back when we were attacked by the tree that Collon had hung the ornament in along with 5 or 6 versions of his character. To make the story of the battle short my character did one chain lightning spell and they all turned on her and my character died in the first round.
This was the second time my character has died in the champaign because of the other characters starting something stupid and me dying. We ended the night with the battle, Bacon's character and Mark in general saying yet again he can't beleive i died. Then I argued with him saying well when you only have 66 hit points verses your 198 you kinda die easy when the meat stick doesn't defend you. I was pissed. Gene figured that since both Collon and Bacon didn't listen to Nevar that they would pay to get her true resurrected.
I spent the night after game talking with Nathan about how could i get back at them. We discussed domination spells to get them to lissten to me. I didn't care for that. Then i suggested what if i just casted spells to buff myself up and not to fight. He's like that could piss off the others in the group (gene and harvy and tevis). We came up with the idea that with being unsatisfied for the way her group couldn't defend her she needed to hire out a body gaurd. So in the next session I will have a shadow knight body gaurd following me around.
Should be interesting seeing the groups reaction.

Brrrrr ok so Iowa has been sent into an ice age I swear. It was like negative 29 the other day. Unimaginable coldness. Which just means more time for games. Cuz when its too cold outside for little girls to play they stay indoors and run a muck. a muck a muck a muck (10 points of coolness if you name that movie).
Anywho this blogs picture has a guest appearance by Bubbles. He's my gaming partner when Nathan is at work and he was being rather curious of the camera. Tonight we're playing more Animal Crossing City Folk for the Wii. I just gained access into Redd's black market. Bought a forged painting apparently :( and have been fishing trying to pay off my house. Still looking for someone to play with though.
Nathan and I have also been playing Indiana Jones Legos for Xbox 360. We're almost done with the initial run through of all three of the movies then we're going to go back trhough in free play and collect everything we can. I just wish we could control the damn camera. We spent 20 minutes in one level trying to figure out how to make indy jump across a pit of rats that one of the girl characters was afraid of. If you haven't played the game each character has special moves they can do Indy has a whip (oddly I play Indy all the time. To think of me with a whip? odd and backwards) the girls can jump really high. Short Round can crawl through little doors for secret passages and stuff like that.
You work together to unlock puzzles of sorts to get through the levels. Like there are two ropes and to open the door each character has to hang from one. Though not all of them are that simple. Of course the whole world you are in is made out of legos, which made my favorite scene in Temple of Doom very funny to me. I mean common lego monkey brains? Ha! You can smash objects and people gaining gold which are also colored legos, in order to buy and unlock other characters and parts of the game.
Again the biggest flaw is there is no camera control. Probably because its a two player game within the same screen. Though I don't think it would have been all that hard to make it so if one player hit a bumper button or something that the camera would be under their control or perhaps from their character point of view. It would make for ease of some levels in my opinion. The other problem I have is how easy it is for your character to die. Granted that you only loose gold when this happens which is easily regainable i find myself getting more frustrated from trying to jump over something and then falling to my death than i probably should be. It might just be I lack the skills to stay alive in the game but it is a set back.
I just looked up at my animal crossing game and my character is stuck walking into a corner I must have been leaning on the controller....oopsie.
Hmmm what else to say oh so gamer girl photos! I think i'll leave off with this. A Question for my regular readers (and i suppose those of you just stopping in). If you could see me reenact your favorite video game (console or pc or table top) what characters or scenerios would you want to see?

Hi Hi readers :) Granted I've been sick with the stomach flu i'm somewhat perky right now so I'm gonna blog while I have the energy. First Blog of 2009!!! I should come up with some gaming resolutions...
1. I will blog at least once a week to give and update on my gaming
2. I will do some gaming themed photoshoots (requests may be filled) and post them here
Hmm... Two is good to start with i suppose.
On to the topic of today Viva Pinata!
You gain levels in how good a gardener you are. You do this by getting experience for luring pinatas, breeding or turning a sour. A sour pinata is like the bad guys of the game along with the ruffians and professor pester which you can't really get rid of them just clean up after the mess they make. The sours make a mess too dropping bad candies that make your pinatas sick if they eat them. But if you do certain things the sours will turn good and come to live in your garden.
There really isn't an end to the game its on going I think I'm level 40 something in mine. The only issues I have found is that one of my main games had locked up do to how i was moving the camera when i saved it. Unfortunately now I can't play with that one so I have to regain all the pinatas i had there. Parts of the game get to be a little hectic to try and keep up on especially because of the xbox controller not having the moveability of a mouse. But I do love it none the less.
As far as gaming updates for me I jhave been woking on the Head of State quest in Fallout 3. I like it alot because I'm a big fan of abraham lincoln so its been kinda fun finding what they put in there about him. I'm level 17 now and still not paying much attention to the main quest. I love that about this game though nathan tells me sooner or later i'm gonna just have to finish the main quest lol.
I've also been playing more animal crossing for the wii and I adore it. Does anyone out there have it and want to play with me? I've collected a ton of fish and upgraded my house once.
But yeah thats been about it. We're going to start playing dungeons and dragons again on mondays so be ready for those updates as well. Till next times :)

This is me as I sleepily blog. Crappy webcam pic thought it might be a fun spice for once lol. If ya like this idea let me know I'll post more ;)
Been playing more fallout 3. I think I'm level 15 or 16 now. Just came across something Mills and exploring there. Before that I was in Andale and shot them all. I'm playing good and was torn on what to do with them.
Nathan got us Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise. We've been playing together and I hate how you can't control the camera angles. The new pinatas are fun so far. They kept alot of it the same though.
For the holiday i got Animal Crossing City Folk for wii and started playing it today. Not far enough into it yet to really talk about much. Its very much like the other animal crossing for game cube though.
As far as photoshoots go i'm starting to get back into it so look forward to new photos for everyones :)
OH and look forward to a link to my little business i'm starting up to do costumes and such. more to come on that later. SOrry so short but this one is a sleepy girl and should go night night lol

SO why i've been gone besides fable2 and fallout3 eating my soul is work. I work retail and if any of you do or have you know that this isn't a happy time to be in retail. Between that, bouts of depression rearing thier heads again and a friend passing away I just have not had the heart to blog.
On with gaming stuffs because its much more interesting then me whining about life. First lets talk about Fable 2. I was really looking forward to playing this game and did enjoy it. I played through as a good character. Though some things i did as evil I played as if it was me and apparently sometimes I just think naughty. I wa happy I was able to play a girl character. I played a bit of the first one and I am happy that this was an additive. Though the downfall to it was that if i added anything to my physique I turned in to a he woman. Or for those of you that have played but not as a girl I looked like Hammer.
I found the quests fun yet after a while rather repetative. I was very avid on finding all the gargoyles and I did and thought that it was amusing to get a kickass weapon after the game was over. Now speaking of the game being over though you can play after the "conclusion" of the story I felt no lure to do so due to the disappointment I felt of what was going to be the big ending boss battle. I won't write much more about it incase you were waiting for fable 2 as a holiday gift. Eventually I'm sure all go back to play some more since we still have acheivements to get and I have a couple quests to finish.
But for now I've been obsessed with collecting every teddy bear I come across while scowering the wastelands in Fallout 3. I have absolutely no complaints about the game. I'm exploring everywhere really haven't done much quests because i'm having too much fun wondering. I like the fact I can blow someone's head off when i sneak attack them in vats. Thats awesome nothing more satisfying than searching a corpse by the eyeball lol.
I enjoy the storyline thus far as well. Haven't found dad yet though i'm level 13. LOl should probably do a quest or two lol. I'm playing a girl again which like in fable I think is great. Something about being a girl gamer able to play a girl is fun. Nathan and I play and compare notes since he's playing a guy the dialogue varies in places and i'm tending more good again and he's played through good and is now playing a bad character. But yeah wish I had more of an incite to say about it other than i like finding stuffs. maybe more to come later.
As for our dnd gaming its been on pause for holidays and nathan almost done with his novel and other friends having finals. So more to come with that.

Anywho, D&D. So after the be hullabalu of making characters the next Monday came when we were going to have our first session. We were told by the DM that he will be over at 6 and we can start playing then. So we had gotten together with some of our players ahead of time and we played rock band while we waited. 6 ocock....no Mark. 6:30 still no Mark (nor a call). 7 comes around and he finally walks through the door and tells us he didn't have anything prepared so Rock Band was cool. I was like wait what? Didn't we just get rushed last week into making characters because you just had to play and then you don't have anything prepared. Not only that but you show up late to your own game without calling to let us know? Whoa dude.
So Rock Band it was. Still fun but it wasn't me playing my mute.
So Last Monday we actually played. Much to my surprise it was fun. Mark introduced my character in quite a funny way. Of course we all met at a tavern the "adjective noun" combo as usual. I came in and waved hello to the barkeep and he held up a sign that read "Hello Lyla How are you?" Clever make fun of the mute. it was cute though but the rest of the party was like look at that girl why does she get a sign? Why is she so special? At least there were oppurtunities for good role play then.
The plot thus far consists of us all being from different guilds have been summoned to be an escort for an embassador for the king of Cormyr (despite that Cormyr has no king). The embassador was a pompus asshole who told us we had to die for him for 500 gold each if trouble were to come our way. Granted we are only 4th level to start with we felt for someone we know nothing about that that was a rather umm stupid request. That and he was really jerky to his servant girl who was really pleasant to us (we later found she was an assassin sent to poisin him).
A short little gaming session but we had alot of funny moments. Here's just a few:
--Joe's character only wears a loin cloth and Mark made it so it was a guild trait and when a messnger was sent to him this was said... "He pulls out of what you hope is his pocket...... (weird pause).......an envelope." Apparently loincloths have pockets now.
--Dan- "First time in the bush?" Mark- "Yeah in quite a while"
--Mark was describing some treasure we found when we defeated some orcs, "You get a couple hundred pieces of......gold peices."
--Mark- "Your coming is expected"- oh is it? lol
Other funny events happened when i would shake my journel symbolizing erasing what I was saying to another character, and when Dan's familar actually became a puppet Raven that I have. If people are interested sometimes I video tape little snippets of game with our FLIP. I could post them on here if anyone wants to see.
In other news SPORE SPORE SPORE SPORE
Ok so I haven't gotten to the middle of the universe yet buts the game is sooooo fun. I'm in the creature stage with one creature (care bears part 2) and in the space stage with my first creation when we started up the game. Nathan and I well mostly nathan made a Nightmare before christmas race and all the buildings and such. Super cool.
I'll probably blog about spore again once I get to play the space stage a while longer. I've been working on making our halloween costumes so I've been a little preoccupied. I'm also making a pirate lolita outfit for my Birthday party :)

You see there was a challenge for me with this character. The DM- Mark- and I tend to butt heads all the time. We're good friends have known each other for at least like 5 years but he and I are almost consistantly fighting. We've narrowed it down to he is ADD and I have OCD. The two clash fairly bad when put in the same room to game for hours on end (although we can play a mean game of Halo 3 without any issues). So I needed to create a character concept that would keep me so focused on roleplaying the character that I wouldn't even be bothered by him or me bothering him in return.
We all started making characters that we normally do not play. Nathan- Palidin, who is normally DM. Dan- Wizard, normally our rogue. And me well I'm usually the Wizard....so what to be.
I knew I wanted to be a bard, that way I could still have the fun of spells in some cases. But how to characterize her?
A mute! That was it. I'll play a mute character and that way I wouldn't even be talking during game to bother Mark and I'd be focusing to much on trying to make my character "be heard" that he wouldn't be bothering me. There was one thing that showed a problem. The DM disagreed that a bard could be mute, due to one line in the PHB
" Every bard spell has a verbal component (singing, reciting, or music)." --page 28 3.5 ed
I was arguing that music could be through the instrument, Nathan agreed with me. Mark felt that bards couldn't cast spells through music. I was like but it says it right there!!!! *points and jumps up and down fire flaming in the background*
In the end I'm playing a mute bard now.
Character Background
Lyla, a sun elf female of 145 years, was born a mute, much to her parents dismay. They are bards, her whole family is. Her mother most of all wanted a girl to sing duets with her eldest daughter, Tula who was ten years Lyla's senior. Tula was a child prodigy with a voice that the angel's would envy. Lyla wanted nothing more than to be able to travel with her family and sing to be heard like her sister. Her parents kept her occupied with piano lessons, but Lyla knew she could never adventure wheeling around a piano. She wanted to travel to neighboring towns and have her name known like Tula.
One day there was a battle near Lyla's hometown. She sat near her bedroom window listening to the clanging of swords and seeing the flashes of light from spells being casted. Then high above everything else Lyla could here a soft brassy tone. It cresendoed beautifully into the most courage inspiring fan fare. She rushed down the stairs to find her father.
She scribbled frantically on her tablet, Dad I want to sing like that! He patted her on the head, "Little one you can not, you have no voice." No no dad like the brass, listen! She ran to the window in the kitchen and almost through the panes of thier hinges as she opened it. The sound of the trumpet rang through the rafters. Lyla's father smiled, "Ah a voice like that people could become envious of" That's the point.
Within a week Lyla had a trumpet of her very own. She practiced and practiced to make it sing. When she wasn't practicing she was polishing it making it shine as she listened to her sister travel scales in her room down the hall. Lyla one day would sing like that.
In present day, Tula has grown into a well reknown opera diva. Lyla can bearly go three towns over without hearing, "Aren't you Tula's little sister?" It infurates her. Though her town feels she is equally as well known, not only due to the family she belongs to but because of her trumpet playing and her witty picture games that she likes to play. Over the years to earn people's attention from her sister she has developed the art of picture riddles on her tablet. During a conversation she would hold her tablet up and all eyes would be focused trying to figure it out, ignoring Tula. Tula became annoyed at first but now realizes that her sister too is allowed a gift.
Set on seeing the world and singing through the bended note of her trumpet, Lyla has begun to adventure on her own to make her family, and bard's guild proud.
